Synopsis of Bill



Senate Bill 27 appropriates $81.5 in recurring general fund to the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) to create a new magistrate in the Dona Ana district. The bill also appropriates $15.0 to the Third Judicial District Attorney and $83.6 to the Public Defender Department for costs associated with the on hold caseload impacts of the new judgeship.



FISCAL IMPLICATIONS



Senate Bill 37 appropriates $180.1 in recurring general fund to the AOC, district attorney, and public defender.



DUPLICATION



SB37 duplicates part of House Bill 30.
