AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS AND AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES BY STATE AGENCIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund or other fund, as indicated, to the specified agencies for expenditure in fiscal year 2000, and unexpended or unencumbered balances remaining at the end of the expenditure period shall revert to the general fund:

A. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) from the state capitol maintenance fund to the legislative council service for the legislative maintenance department to recarpet the public areas of the capitol;

B. two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) from the general fund to the jury and witness fee fund;

C. ninety-nine thousand five hundred dollars ($99,500) from the general fund to the administrative office of the district attorneys to give district attorneys an eight percent salary increase;

D. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) from the general fund to the office of the attorney general to represent consumers in a telecommunications rate case before the public regulation commission;

E. three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) from the general fund to the public regulation commission to pay costs associated with conducting a telecommunications rate case; and

F. sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) from the state road fund to the state highway and transportation department to renovate historical markers statewide.
