A JOINT RESOLUTION

PROPOSING THE TRANSFER OF PROPERTY TO VALENCIA COUNTY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A DETENTION CENTER AND JUDICIAL COMPLEX.



WHEREAS, Section 13-6-3 NMSA 1978 requires ratification and approval of any sale, trade or lease of property for a period exceeding twenty-five years in duration or of a value of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) or more; and

WHEREAS, the county of Valencia requests that the state transfer to it the piece of property herein described, a parcel now owned in fee simple by the property control division of the general services department to enable the county of Valencia to construct a detention center on the property and eventually construct a judicial complex on the remainder of the property; and

WHEREAS, the county of Valencia requests that the state transfer to it the property described as a parcel of Tracts 26-A-5 and 26-A-1-A-2, Map 75 of the Survey of the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District, Projected Section 33, Township 7 North, Range 2 East NMPM, a parcel consisting of 30.7725 acres; and

WHEREAS, the property is more particularly described as:

"Beginning at the Southeast corner, whence USC&GS brass cap in concrete, stamped US85-13S, bears South 00 degrees 17 minutes 03 seconds East, 2631.50 feet distant and running as follows:

Thence North 78 degrees 10 minutes 44 seconds West, 1122.72 feet to the Southwest corner;

Thence North 10 degrees 39 minutes 37 seconds East, 1183.17 feet to the Northwest corner;

Thence South 79 degrees 34 minutes 24 seconds East, 1117.57 feet to the Northeast corner;

Thence South 10 degrees 25 minutes 36 seconds West, 1210.48 feet to the Southeast corner;

Thence South 06 degrees 52 minutes 03 seconds West, 193.10 feet to the Southeast corner and the point of beginning and containing 30.7725 acres, more or less."; and

WHEREAS, the county requests that the parcel be transferred at no cost to Valencia county;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the proposed transfer of property from the property control division of the general services department to Valencia county be ratified and approved pursuant to the provisions of Section 13-6-3 NMSA 1978; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be distributed to the property control division of the general services department and to the board of county commissioners of the county of Valencia.
