A JOINT MEMORIAL

REQUESTING THE STATE HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT TO SURFACE, IMPROVE AND WIDEN TO FOUR LANES STATE HIGHWAY 264 AND U.S. HIGHWAY 666 BETWEEN YAH-TAH-HEY AND THE NEW MEXICO BORDER AND YAH-TAH-HEY AND SHIPROCK.



WHEREAS, state highway 264 between Yah-Tah-Hey and the New Mexico-Arizona border and United States highway 666 between Yah-Tah-Hey and Shiprock are deteriorating and dangerous; and

WHEREAS, these roads are vital to the economies of the Gallup, Farmington and Navajo regions;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the state highway and transportation department be requested to surface, improve and widen to four lanes state highway 264 between Yah-Tah-Hey and the New Mexico-Arizona border and United States highway 666 between Yah-Tah-Hey and Shiprock; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the state highway engineer.
