44TH LEGISLATURE - STATE OF NEW MEXICO - FIRST SESSION, 1999

REQUESTING THAT THE GOVERNOR PROCLAIM MARCH 10, 1999 AS "MILITARY BASES DAY".

WHEREAS, New Mexico recognizes and honors those veterans who valiantly served their country and honored New Mexico by their service; and

WHEREAS, those individuals who gave their lives in defense of their country will be remembered forever in the annals of military history; and

WHEREAS, the contributions of military personnel and civilians employed by the department of defense are significant to the economy of New Mexico;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Governor Gary E. Johnson be requested to proclaim March 10, 1999 as "Military Bases Day"; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to Governor Johnson.
