44TH LEGISLATURE - STATE OF NEW MEXICO - FIRST SESSION, 1999
EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF NATHAN GREER.
WHEREAS, Nathan Greer died July 20, 1998; and
WHEREAS, he was born in the Greer mansion on Don Gaspar Street in Santa Fe and attended the New Mexico Military Institute where he was captain of the school's polo team; and
WHEREAS, he was also his Harvard freshman class' polo team captain; and
WHEREAS, he served in the army after college and then returned to Santa Fe to take over his father's real estate interests, which included the Lensic theatre, Dunlap's department store, Coronado shopping center and the Pan Am center in Las Cruces; and
WHEREAS, friends said he was public spirited, public minded and had excellent judgment; and
WHEREAS, he was a board member of the first national bank of Santa Fe and was a patron of other enterprises in Santa Fe, such as the Downs racetrack; and
WHEREAS, he is survived by four children, James, Randall, Nanette and Greta; two brothers, John and Charles; and four grandchildren;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that condolences be extended to the friends and family of Nathan Greer, a loving and devoted New Mexican; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the family.
