RECOGNIZING AND CONGRATULATING CLARA M. APODACA ON BEING NAMED DIRECTOR OF PROTOCOL OF THE OVERSEAS PRIVATE INVESTMENT CORPORATION.
WHEREAS, President Clinton appointed Clara M. Apodaca as director of protocol at the overseas private investment corporation in October 1998; and
WHEREAS, she served as senior advisor to the assistant secretary for management and chief financial officer at the department of the treasury from 1993 to 1998; and
WHEREAS, she served as general assistant to Ron Brown at the Democratic national committee from 1989 to 1993; and
WHEREAS, she served in New Mexico as cabinet secretary of cultural affairs from 1985 to 1987; and
WHEREAS, she was the first lady of New Mexico from 1975 to 1978;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Clara M. Apodaca be recognized and congratulated for her appointment as director of protocol at the overseas private investment corporation in Washington; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to Clara M. Apodaca.
