SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
This bill appropriates $300.0 to the Commission on Higher Education to pay for costs associated with connecting the Roswell Branch of Eastern New Mexico University and New Mexico State University through the emergency access fiber-optic line of the Roswell and Las Cruces National Guard Armories and the costs associated with providing distance education courses. This bill carries an emergency clause.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $300.0 contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general fund for expenditure in fiscal years 1999 and 2001. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY01 shall revert to the general fund. The CHE may not use this appropriation for administrative purposes.
