Synopsis of Bill



The bill requires coaches in school districts that have an AAAA athletic program to be compensated pursuant to the same athletic increment schedule for their coaching duties.



Significant Issues



According to SDE the bill takes salary increment decisions away from the local board of education.



FISCAL IMPLICATIONS



Public Schools would need to increase their coach's Salary Schedules. Some schools may not be able to absorb the additional cost without using funds from other programs.
