SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 603 appropriates $2.8 million from the general fund to the HSD in FY2000 to provide personal care services under the Medicaid program.
Significant Issues
The personal care benefit is not currently offered by the Medicaid program. This appropriation will constitute a program change.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The federal match rate for FY2000 is 25.87 percent, which means the appropriation contained in this bill will entitle the state to a little over $8.0 million in federal revenues.
CONFLICT/DUPLICATION/COMPANIONSHIP/RELATIONSHIP
Senate Bill 2 appropriates $2.8 million to the HSD to add the personal care benefit to the Medicaid program; Senate Bill 207 increases appropriations to the for Medicaid services under the Developmentally Disabled waiver; and Senate Bill 401 increases appropriations to the HSD for payments to Medicaid providers.
