The Senate Judiciary Committee amendment clarifies that escape from the custody of community programs is a fourth degree felony.
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 546 would amend Section 30-22-8 NMSA 1978 to include community custody programs, including day reporting programs, electronic monitoring programs, day detention programs or community tracking programs under the statute for escape from jail. Attempt to escape from the custody of these programs is a fourth degree felony.
