SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 386 appropriates 100.0 to the Department of Health for expenditure in FY 2000 for the purpose of providing emergency services support for Sierra Vista Hospital located in Truth or Consequences in Sierra county.
Significant Issues
The emergency room service at Sierra Vista Hospital incurs substantial expenses providing service to people who are injured at Elephant Butte State Park or the surrounding area. Much of this expense is uncompensated and it has become a serious burden for the hospital. Appropriation of these monies would assist the hospital in its need to remain financially viable.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The Department of Health has the necessary fiscal control to properly disperse these monies.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
Administration of these monies is within the budgeted capacity of this department.
