SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

Senate Bill 379 provides a general fund appropriation of $275.0 to the Local Government Division of the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) to increase the funding for regional planning districts for expenditure in FY2000.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

This bill makes a general fund appropriation of $275.0 for expenditure in FY2000 for the purpose stated above. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY2000 reverts to the general fund.

Currently, $275.0 in general fund is in the special appropriations within the FY99 budget for DFA for the Council of Governments. The appropriation in this bill would double the current available funding for this purpose.

RELATIONSHIP

Both the LFC and the Executive have recommended a total of $275.0 in general fund for FY2000 for this purpose, which are normally included in House Bill 2 and this year, Senate Bill 2.
