SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
The bill appropriates $45.0 in general fund to SHTD to match federal funds to expand the transportation system in Portales.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The bill appropriates general fund although road fund revenue may be utilized to match federal highway and mass transit or public transportation funding. The SHTD currently receives federal funds within its public transportation programs bureau that could be utilized by the City of Portales for the apparent purposes of the bill.
TECHNICAL ISSUES
The bill does not define "transportation system". The transportation system could indicate roadways or mass transit.
