SUMMARY
Senate Bill 165 appropriates $107,579 to the Department of Health from the general fund for FY 2000 for the purpose of expanding the Women, Infants and children farmer's market nutrition program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of the fiscal year shall revert to the general fund.
Significant Issues
Appropriation of these monies will help in the utilization of federal monies for the purpose of purchasing nutritious food and will also help the small New Mexico farmer to sell their crops.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
State monies utilized for these purposes will be matched at the 70% federal-30% state matching rate.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The Department of Health has a strong administrative unit in this program and these monies are within the capabilities of the unit.
DUPLICATION
House Bill 110 and Senate Bill165 are duplicate bills.
