SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

Senate Bill 94 amends the Engineering and Surveying Practice Act to allow a survey to be done to less than the minimum standard, as long as the survey record reports what was not done. Completed surveys must maintain quality standards and the information filed must include a statement by the client regarding the services declined.

Significant Issues

The cost of the surveys would be significantly less for individuals not requiring a full survey. According to the Board of Professional Engineers and Surveyors, the protection of the public is in question and the bill may be too vague.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

There is no appropriation contained in this bill.
