Synopsis of SPAC Amendment
The Senate Public Affairs Committee amendment to Senate bill 32 is technical in nature and does not change the original intent of the bill.
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 32 would provide child care services to children eligible to receive temporary assistance for needy families in Dona Ana County.
Significant Issues
The Child Care Services Bureau provides state-wide services. This appropriation would enhance the current program.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
Senate Bill 32 appropriates $100.0 from the general fund and the funding would be recurring.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The department is staffed to monitor the program.
CONFLICT/RELATIONSHIP
The LFC and Executive budget recommendations include approximately $57.0 million to provide services to an estimated 29,506 children in day care.
