The House Appropriations and Finance Committee's amendment to House Joint Memorial 68 includes New Mexico's three public television stations.
Synopsis of Bill
House Joint Memorial 68 proposes to have the General Services Department, Department of Military Affairs, Commission on Higher Education, the Public Regulation Commission and State Highway and Transportation Department cooperatively establish a comprehensive telecommunications infrastructure statewide. HJM68 also request the Legislative Council to direct an interim committee to study obstacles to a comprehensive statewide telecommunications network and make recommendations by December 1, 1999.
