SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 658 appropriates 500.0 from the general fund to the Department of Health for expenditure in FY 2000 for the purpose of contracting with community domestic violence prevention and education programs.
Significant Issues
The incidence of domestic violence increases yearly. Programs that educate and provide preventive methodologies to these problems offer the best opportunity to diminish this serious problem.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The Department of Health has the necessary resources to fiscally manage these contracts.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
Administration of these programs is within the budgeted capacity of this department.
