SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

House Bill 631 would amend various sections of the Liquor Control Act. The bill would prohibit nonresident licensees, who bill less than $50,000 annually, from receiving a prorated license fee pursuant to the terms of the existing statute.

Significant Issues

Under existing statute, nonresident license fees are prorated according to the date the license was granted.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

House Bill 631 does not contain an appropriation. If any, the impact would be minor.

ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS

Enactment of House Bill 631 would be minor.

CONFLICT/DUPLICATION/COMPANIONSHIP/RELATIONSHIP

House Bill 631 conflicts with Senate Bill 484, which creates a new licensing category for nonresident licensees who bill less than $50,000.
