SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
This bill provides a general fund appropriation of $125.0 to the LGD to develop maps for land use planning and regulation in San Miguel county for expenditure in FY99 and FY2000. This bill contains an emergency clause.
Significant Issues
According to the State Land Office, many New Mexico counties have or are in the process of developing basic tools necessary for the local administration of land use planning. "In order to formulate governing regulation basic maps illustrating current land uses, infrastructure and projected growth are essential."
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
This bill makes a general fund appropriation of $125.0 to LGD for the purpose stated above for expenditure in FY99 and FY2000. Unexpended or unencumbered balances remaining at the end of FY2000 revert to the general fund.
OTHER SUBSTANTIVE ISSUES
According to the LGD, Earth Data Analysis Center at the University of New Mexico may have a set of useable maps.
