SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 324 prohibits certain abortion procedures and sets out penalties for those who perform these procedures. The bill also defines who may bring a cause of action for civil remedy and also defines the degree of criminal penalty for those found guilty under this act.
Significant Issues
The banning of partial-birth abortions has been of national concern over the recent past. Recent action at the national level as well as the experience of other states will help New Mexico in it's understanding and action on the issues involved.
