SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
This bill appropriates $150.0 from the general fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 to fund positions at the Secondary School Learning Center for drop-out prevention in the Santa Fe School District.
Significant Issues
According to the Agency, these funds are to for the Secondary School Learning Center at the Villa Linda Mall in Santa Fe. This program is to extend the reach of education to a site more accessible to non-attending students and allow them to continue their education while engaged in employment or other activities.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
This bill reduces the general fund by $150.0 in fiscal year 2000. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 will revert to the general fund.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The Agency indicates that the State Department of Education staff will have increased responsibilities, however, they will be able to absorb the responsibilities into their current capacity.
