SUMMARY



Synopsis of HTC Amendment



The House Transportation Committee amendments to HB4 appropriate $620,037.7 in other state funds and federal funds for the administration and operations of SHTD. The amendments add $5,546.6 in personal services, $1,401.0 in employee benefits, and 212 FTE to the funding provided in the original bill. The amendments support the transfer of $5.1 million to the Department of Public Safety and $1.6 million to the Office of Archaeological Studies.





Synopsis of Bill



The bill appropriates $620.0 million for the programs and operations of the State Highway and Transportation Department (SHTD) for FY2000.



FISCAL IMPLICATIONS



The bill appropriates $5,500.0 in road fund cash balances, $345,505.2 in road fund revenue, and $269,032.5 in federal funds for FY2000 for transportation activities and highway construction. The bill reflects the budget recommendation of the Legislative Finance Committee for SHTD's FY2000 budget.
