STATE OF NEW MEXICO

44TH LEGISLATURE - FIRST SESSION - 1999

REQUESTED BY

FOR EQUIPMENT PURCHASES AND UPGRADES THROUGHOUT THE STATE.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

• to the department of public safety

ninety-three thousand dollars ($93,000) to purchase and install a fourier transform infrared microscope system for the crime laboratory; and

three million eight hundred seventy-eight thousand dollars ($3,878,000) to purchase and install digital radios and related equipment;

• to the general services department

five hundred twenty-five thousand eight hundred dollars ($525,800) to make aircraft engine overhauls and repairs to state aircraft; and

two million dollars ($2,000,000) for conversion of the state's radio communications system to digital services to enhance law enforcement officer safety and effectiveness and provide interconnection for emergency response to natural disasters; and

• to the taxation and revenue department

two hundred seventy thousand dollars ($270,000) for extraction equipment; and

three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) for an auto-dialer system.
