RELATING TO PARK FEES; ENACTING A PARK FEE SCHEDULE; ENACTING A SECTION OF THE NMSA 1978; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. PARK FEE SCHEDULE.--
A. The director of the state parks division of the energy, minerals and natural resources department shall collect the following fees from users of state park and recreation facilities:
(1) day use fees for parks in general:
(a) fee per vehicle $ 3.50;
(b) walk-in or bicycle 0.00;
and
(c) bus 15.00;
(2) camping permits:
(a) primitive sites $ 7.50;
(b) developed sites 9.00;
(c) electric hook-up 4.00;
(d) sewage hook-up 3.00;
(e) electric hook-up in addition to annual camping permit 4.00;
and
(f) electric and sewage hook-up with annual camping permit 6.00;
(3) annual day use permit per vehicle:
(a) regular $ 40.00;
(b) seniors over sixty-two years 25.00;
(c) individuals with disabilities 25.00;
(d) third vehicle 5.00;
and
(e) single park 20.00;
(4) annual overnight camping permit:
(a) regular $ 100;
(b) seniors over sixty-two years 60.00;
(c) individuals with disabilities 60.00;
and
(d) third vehicle 5.00;
(5) replacement of annual day use permit or annual overnight camping permit $ 5.00;
(6) marina fees for division-operated marinas:
(a) pump-out at Ute and Conchas, minimum charge $ 6.00;
and
(b) dry dock per month 40.00;
(7) group shelter:
(a) small, five tables or less $ 15.00;
(b) large, six tables or more 30.00;
(c) rally, as determined by division
(d) groups of less than thirty 30.00;
and
(e) groups of thirty people or more 50.00;
(8) special use permit, minimum charge $ 15.00;
(9) concession permit $ 300;
and
(10) guide card $ 300.
B. The department may consider providing waivers of the fees set forth in Subsection A of this section if a park has a history of charging fees other than those in that subsection. The department shall set the fees for a park that has requested a waiver.
C. The department may set the fees to be charged for rental of buildings or meeting rooms.
Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
