RELATING TO VETERANS; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING LAND SURROUNDING THE VIETNAM MEMORIAL IN COLFAX COUNTY TO BE USED TO MATCH A CONTRIBUTION FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH A STATE CEMETERY UNDER THE NATIONAL CEMETERY SYSTEM.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION--STATE CEMETERY.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico veterans' service commission for expenditure in fiscal years 2000 and 2001 for the purpose of acquiring land surrounding the Vietnam memorial in Colfax county. The land shall be used by the New Mexico veterans' service commission to match a contribution from the federal government in order to establish a state cemetery under the national cemetery system. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
