MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE TOURISM DEPARTMENT AND THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT FOR DEVELOPMENT, PROMOTION AND MARKETING OF NEW MEXICO'S HISTORIC UNITED STATES ROUTE 66 FOR ITS SEVENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the tourism department and the economic development department as follows:
(1) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to the tourism department for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of assisting communities along United States route 66 to develop and create marketing and promotional material for the seventy-fifth anniversary celebration; and
(2) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to the economic development department for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of providing technical, architectural, design and revitalization services to the communities along United States route 66 in preparation for the seventy-fifth anniversary celebration.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
