Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, line 12, strike "; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION".

2. On page 1, line 20, strike "eighteen" and insert in lieu thereof "fifteen" and after "members" insert "reflecting all geographical regions within the state".

3. On page 1, line 24, after "representatives" insert ", one of whom shall be chosen from the educational fields of teachers or administrators, which include anyone receiving a salary or benefits".

4. On page 2, line 1, after "representatives" insert ", one of which shall be chosen from the educational fields of teachers or administrators, which include anyone receiving a salary or benefits".

5. On page 2, line 3, after "senate" insert ", one of whom shall be chosen from the educational fields of teachers or administrators, which include anyone receiving a salary or benefits".

6. On page 2, line 5, after "senate" insert ", one of whom shall be chosen from the educational fields of teachers or administrators, which include anyone receiving a salary or benefits".

7. On page 2, line 6, after "one" insert "ex officio".

8. On page 2, lines 8 through 10, strike Paragraph (6) in its entirety.

9. Renumber succeeding paragraphs accordingly.

10. On page 2, line 11, strike "school parents" and insert in lieu thereof "public members, including one student, one business representative and one parent", and strike ", who are not".

11. On page 2, line 12, strike "employed in education services".

12. On page 2, between lines 22 and 23, insert the following new subsection:

"F. No more than four members of the task force shall be composed of teachers or administrators.".

13. On page 4, line 5, strike "preceding each session" and insert in lieu thereof "before the next legislative session".

14. On page 4, between lines 8 and 9, insert the following new section:

"Section 6. DELAYED REPEAL.--Sections 1 through 4 of this act are repealed effective January 30, 2000.".

15. On page 4, strike lines 9 through 15 in their entirety.,

and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
