MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ADMINISTER THE NEW FOUR SKILLS EXAM, PRUEBA DE ESPANOL PARA LA CERTIFICACION BILINGUE, FOR ENDORSEMENT OF TEACHERS IN BILINGUAL EDUCATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred sixteen thousand dollars ($116,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department public of education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of administering and scoring the new four skills examination, prueba de espanol para la certificacion bilingue, to certify proficiency in the Spanish language for the endorsement of teachers in bilingual education. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
