AN ACT

RELATING TO PUBLIC OFFICIALS; PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL MILEAGE FOR PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSIONERS TO RETURN TO THEIR DISTRICTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new section of the Per Diem and Mileage Act is enacted to read:

"[NEW MATERIAL] PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSIONERS--MILEAGE FOR TRIPS TO DISTRICTS.--Public regulation commissioners may receive reimbursement for mileage at the rate established pursuant to the Per Diem and Mileage Act for up to four round trips a month from Santa Fe to their districts."

Section 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the provisions of this act is July 1, 1999.
