MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR THE PURPOSE OF REFUNDING OVERPAYMENTS MADE BY THE COUNTY OF SANTA FE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred two thousand six hundred ninety-four dollars ($602,694) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of Santa Fe community college for expenditure in fiscal years 1999 and 2000 for the purpose of refunding overpayments made by the county of Santa Fe. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
