AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A SOCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN CHAVES AND EDDY COUNTIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of establishing and increasing support for a social support program for young people using adult volunteers as mentors in Chaves and Eddy counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
