MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND A YOUTH LEADERSHIP AND PUBLIC POLICY TRAINING PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 to contract with a community-based organization to provide a youth leadership and public policy training program designed to address gang prevention, substance abuse and teen pregnancy. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
