AN ACT

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE; LIMITING UNINSURED MOTORIST COVERAGE FOR INJURY TO OR DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new Section 66-5-301.1 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:

"66-5-301.1. [NEW MATERIAL] INSURANCE AGAINST UNINSURED MOTORISTS--LIMITATION ON PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY.--Uninsured motorist coverage for injury to or destruction of property extends only to the insured vehicle described in the policy and to property, not otherwise insured, owned by an insured and carried in or upon the vehicle described in the policy."
