MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PRESCHOOL AND INFANT EVALUATION PROGRAM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty-two thousand dollars ($252,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 to contract with the university of New Mexico health sciences center for a statewide preschool and infant evaluation program to provide comprehensive diagnotic evaluations for infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for developmental delays. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
