AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS TO CONDUCT WATER QUALITY AND WATER CONSERVATION PROJECTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for the New Mexico department of agriculture for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for soil and water conservation districts to conduct water quality and water conservation projects statewide. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
