AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION TO REVIEW THE COST MODEL OF THE FUNDING FORMULA TO REFLECT COSTS OF EXTENDED LEARNING TECHNOLOGY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of implementing a comprehensive review of the cost model of the funding formula so that the funding formula accurately reflects the delivery of instruction, including technology for extended learning. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
