MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT, PRINTING AND DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION ON EARLY CHILD CARE AND EDUCATION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 to collaborate with the department of health, the state department of public education, the New Mexico state university cooperative extension service, the university of New Mexico family development program and the coalition for quality children's media to develop a packet or series of information on child care and education and to provide this information to every family in New Mexico at the time a child is born into the family or adopted as an infant or toddler. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
