RELATING TO THE STATE CAPITOL; MAKING THE BUILDING SMOKE FREE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. Section 24-16-4 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1985, Chapter 85, Section 4) is amended to read:

"24-16-4. SMOKING PROHIBITED EXCEPT IN PERMITTED AREAS.--It is unlawful for any person to smoke in a public place or at a public meeting except in smoking-permitted areas. Except for private offices and the house and senate lounges, no part of the state capitol shall be designated as a

smoking-permitted area."
