Honorable Speaker and Members of the House:

I have this day VETOED and am returning HOUSE BILL 345,

enacted by the Forty-Fourth Legislature, First Session, 1999.

This legislation would have amended the Incentives for School Improvement Act to allow money received pursuant to that act to be given to teachers to purchase classroom supplies. This is an unnecessary refinement of this act – local districts are currently able to address such issues without further statutory direction.
