Honorable Speaker and Members of the House:

I have this day VETOED and am returning HOUSE BILL 121, as amended,

enacted by the Forty-Fourth Legislature, First Session, 1999.

This legislation attempts to clarify the procedure used by a delinquent taxpayer to redeem their property before it is sold at a public auction. Unfortunately, the bill became technically flawed during its passage. As a result of an improperly drafted amendment, there is an inconsistency with respect to this redemption process. Accordingly, I have vetoed this legislation.
