Mr. President:
Your FINANCE COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 61
has had it under consideration and reports same with
recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, line 13, after "APPROPRIATIONS;" insert
"AMENDING A REAUTHORIZATION TO CHANGE ITS PURPOSE;".
2. On pages 2 and 3, strike Section 2 in its entirety and
renumber succeeding sections accordingly.
3. On page 3, between lines 22 and 23, insert the following
new section:
"Section 4. Laws 1998, Chapter 118, Section 74 is amended to
read:
"Section 74. [LEA] COUNTY ROADS--REAUTHORIZATION.--The
authorization for the issuance of severance tax bonds for the
state highway and transportation department to make street repairs
in Clovis and Portales pursuant to Subsections GGG and HHH of
Section 11 of Chapter 7 of Laws 1998 is void. Upon certification
by the state highway and transportation department, four hundred
thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated to the department for
improvements to [Lea] various county and municipal roads in
the following counties in the following amounts:
A. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for Roosevelt
county; and
B. three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) for Curry
county."".
4. Renumber the succeeding sections accordingly.
