0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PAY FOR UNANTICIPATED DETENTION

0012|     COSTS OF TORRANCE COUNTY FOR BED SPACE FOR PRISONERS;

0013|     DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifty thousand
    |
0017|     dollars ($350,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0018|     the local government division of the department of finance and
    |
0019|     administration for expenditure in fiscal years 1998 and 1999
    |
0020|     to pay unanticipated detention costs in Torrance county.  Any
    |
0021|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0022|     fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0023|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0024|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect
    |
0025|     immediately.
