0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR OPERATIONS OF THE PENITENTIARY OF

0012|     NEW MEXICO; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Four million four hundred
    |
0016|     thousand dollars ($4,400,000) of the distribution of the land
    |
0017|     grant permanent funds of which the penitentiary of New Mexico
    |
0018|     is the beneficiary is appropriated to the corrections
    |
0019|     department for expenditure in fiscal year 1999 for operations
    |
0020|     of the penitentiary of New Mexico.
    |
0021|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0022|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect
    |
0023|     immediately.
