0011|     REQUESTING THE STATE BOARD OF FINANCE TO LOAN THE CITY OF

0012|     ELEPHANT BUTTE MONEY TO MEET START-UP COSTS.

0014|          WHEREAS, the citizens of Elephant Butte recently voted to
    |
0015|     incorporate as the one hundred first municipality in New
    |
0016|     Mexico; and
    |
0017|          WHEREAS, there is no money in the city treasury to
    |
0018|     operate in the first year;
    |
0019|          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
    |
0020|     STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the state board of finance be
    |
0021|     requested to loan two hundred fifty thousand dollars
    |
0022|     ($250,000) to the city of Elephant Butte for its first year of
    |
0023|     operations as the one hundred first municipality; and
    |
0024|          BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
    |
0025|     transmitted to the state board of finance and to the city of
    |
