0011|     REQUESTING THE STATE HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT TO

0012|     STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF CONSTRUCTING A NORTHSIDE LOOP IN

0015|          WHEREAS, congestion in the vicinity of the Rio West mall
    |
0016|     and the American Heritage plaza is unacceptable; and
    |
0017|          WHEREAS, a proposed loop to relieve the congestion would
    |
0018|     extend from the Miyamura overpass on the east around the north
    |
0019|     edge and bypass most of the northside residential community
    |

0020|     and reconnect with interstate 40 west of the Rio West mall
    |
0021|     area; and
    |
0022|          WHEREAS, this is the highest capital improvement priority
    |
0023|     for the city of Gallup;
    |
0024|          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
    |
0025|     STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the state highway and transportation
    |

0001|     department be requested to study the feasibility of
    |
0002|     constructing a northside loop to relieve traffic congestion in
    |
0003|     Gallup; and
    |
0004|          BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be
    |
0005|     transmitted to the secretary of highway and transportation.
