SENATE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 446 STATE OF NEW MEXICO 43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998 REQUESTED BY SUE F. WILSON FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN SENATE DISTRICT 19. I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded: to the local government division of the department of finance and administration: A. twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) to acquire, equip and furnish a visitors' center for the east mountain chamber of commerce in Bernalillo county; B. thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) for improvements to the east mountain little league fields in Bernalillo county; C. six hundred seventy thousand dollars ($670,000) for the construction of a - 1 - multiple-use outdoor recreational park on city-owned land contiguous to a bike path on Tramway in the city of Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; D. fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for repairs and additions to the Torrance county fire station in Moriarty; E. thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) for purchase of fire pumper trucks for the district 2 volunteer fire station in Torrance county; F. twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) to purchase and improve land for a substation for the Torrance county volunteer fire department; and G. fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the purchase of two Torrance county sheriff's vehicles; to the state department of public education: A. twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) to prepare the site for, plan, design and construct basketball courts at Apache elementary school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; B. sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) to purchase a modular technology education laboratory for Roosevelt middle school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; C. eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) for a new track at Manzano high school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; and - 2 - D. twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) for recreational equipment at Jackson middle school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; E. fourteen thousand two hundred five dollars ($14,205) for fine arts band instruments at Jackson middle school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; F. thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) for the purchase and installation of educational technology at Jackson middle school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; G. nine hundred thousand dollars ($900,000) to design, construct and equip a new middle school in Edgewood in Santa Fe county; H. twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) to purchase and install educational technology at Edgewood elementary school in Santa Fe county; I. fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) for improvements to Edgewood elementary school in Santa Fe county; J. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to purchase and install educational technology at Manzano high school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; K. twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) to purchase and install educational technology at Jackson middle school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; - 3 - L. twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) to purchase and install educational technology at Montoya elementary school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; and M. twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) to purchase and install educational technology at Apache elementary school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; to the state agency on aging: one million dollars ($1,000,000) for phase one planning, design or construction of a senior center in the southeast heights area of Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; and to the state highway and transportation department: A. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to install acceleration and deceleration lanes to enhance safety on Barton road at the elementary school in the east mountain area of Bernalillo county; and B. three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to pave two miles of county road 8 in Edgewood in Santa Fe county. - 4 - - 5 -
