            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

FOR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS IN COLUMBUS IN LUNA COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay project be funded:

                    to the state department of public education:
          
                    two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to purchase and install three portable
          buildings for the sixth grade classes at the Columbus elementary school in Luna
          county;

                    to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:
     
                    five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to construct a juvenile detention
                                        - 1 -

          center in Deming in Luna county; and

                    to the state highway and transportation department:
     
                    two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to pave Fourth street in Deming in
          Luna county.
