HOUSE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 60 
                                
                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN HOUSE DISTRICT 14 IN BERNALILLO COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the state highway and transportation department:

          A.  one million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) for phase one
planning, designing and construction, including soil decontamination and cleanup, of Isleta
boulevard in the south valley of Bernalillo county;

          B.  forty-two thousand dollars ($42,000) for planning, designing, right-of-way
purchase and construction, including necessary drainage and sewer improvements of Gatewood
road in the Armijo area of the south valley in Bernalillo county;

          C.  twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) for planning, designing and constructing
environmentally designed speed-reduction barriers on Sunset Gardens, La Vega, Ann, Airway,
Lansing, Lovato, Cannon and Sunset roads in the south valley in Bernalillo county; and

          D.  one hundred sixty thousand dollars ($160,000) for planning, designing, right-
of-way acquisition and construction, including necessary drainage improvements, of Mae avenue
and Five Points road in the Atrisco and Five Points area of the south valley, including portions of
these thoroughfares both inside and outside the city of Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;
          
                    to the state department of public education:

          A.  forty thousand dollars ($40,000) for educational technology purchase and
installation and necessary electrical system upgrading at Dolores Gonzales elementary school in
Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; and

          B.  twenty-eight thousand dollars ($28,000) for educational technology purchase
and installation and necessary electrical system upgrading at school-on-wheels alternative high
school in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county; and

                    to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:

                    seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) for phase one planning, designing and
          construction of a multipurpose service center in the Atrisco-Five Points area of
          the south valley in Bernalillo county.
